Yvonne S. Boice is a businesswoman and philanthropist residing in Boca Raton, Florida. Since moving from New Jersey in 1983, she has made a significant impact on the local community – championing arts, culture, education and women’s rights initiatives. Honing her passion at local level, she then created her presence on the national and international stages, become an invaluable guiding force for charitable organizations and an inspiring advocate for women in business. Boice is currently the chair for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the National Endowment of the Humanities, the chair for the STEAM Initiative at Palm Beach Stage College, and the chair for the Palm Beach International Film Festival.

Boice graduated from New York University with a BS degree in Marketing and successfully used those skills to run two hugely successful enterprises in Boca Raton. The Shoppes at Village Pointe, a thriving 77,000 square foot shopping center and Fugazy International Travel. During her decades at the helm of these companies, she made it her vocation to mentor women in business, both here and abroad.

 

In recent years, Boice has been selected to represent The United States at four high-profile women’s international business conferences. Karen Hughes, the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, chose Yvonne as one of six delegates to the MENA (Middle East and North African) Women’s Conference held in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. Paula Dobriansky, the Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, appointed Yvonne to attend at the Global Summit of Women in Berlin and for the Global Summit of Women in Hanoi. 2, Yvonne also traveled to Santa Cruz, Bolivia to address women and encourage them to take political action.

 

Boice has also been honored with many prestigious awards such as: the Association of Fundraising Professionals Palm Beach Chapter Outstanding Philanthropist Award, The Diamond Award by the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, the President’s Call to Service Award for over 4,000 hours of community volunteer service, the Boca Raton Award from Lynn University, the Bridge Builder Award from LEAH – The League for Educational Awareness of the Holocaust, the Soroptimist International Lifetime Achievement Award, the Amazing American Woman Award for leadership from the Women’s Majority Network in Washington, D.C., the Founders Award from the Palm Beach International Film Festival and the Northwood University Outstanding Business Leader Award.

 

These outstanding awards have been bestowed upon Boice because of her tireless devotion to numerous important causes. She is currently serving as a board member on the Trust of the National Endowment of the Humanities. In addition, she has given of her time and talents to such noteworthy organizations as Palm Beach State College Foundation Board, Lynn University Board, Palm Beach International Film Festival, Boca Raton Historical Society, Centre for the Arts (Chair), World Trade Center and YMCA of South Palm Beach County. Yvonne is also an appointee to Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
 

Yvonne is married to attorney and World Trade Center of Palm Beach founder, Al Zucaro and is a devoted mother to Lauren, a practicing attorney living in the Boston area with her husband, world-renowned astrophysicist, Dr. Randall Knowles Smith.
